September 2022 Newsletter
Hello NEWTS. I hope you all had a great summer! There are a lot of things going on with the NEWTS as we move into the fall. We have started our monthly social events on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 6pm, locations vary. These events are a great opportunity to meet fellow trail users, learn more about what we are working on, and meet new friends. The socials are family friendly events and all are welcome, members or not. The next one is September 28th, 6pm at Primaltones in South Beach. See below for more details.
The fall build season is just around the corner and we have a narrow window before the heavy rains to finish the three new trails we started this summer, Upper Level, Upper Dude Sweet, and Middle Earth. Norm has been hard at work carving paths and moving dirt with the excavator at Big Creek but we need volunteers to help put the finish on these trails. Upcoming Events
September 11th Work Day at Big Creek
The NEWTS have been busy working on Big Creek Phase 2. We have a work day schedule for this Sunday Sept. 11th, 10am. We are working on two new trails, Upper Level and Middle Earth. Upper Level is an extension of the climbing trail Level Up that will take us higher up the hill. Middle Earth will be a hand built, downhill trail. Come out, meet some new friends, and help us get these trails done and packed before the rainy season.
As usual we meet at the Big Creek Trailhead a little before 10am. We usually wrap up around 2pm. If you can't make it at 10am, ride up Level Up and you can probably find us. Bring water, snacks, and work gloves. We have tools available but if you want to bring your own, a gravel rake and/or square shovel will be the most useful.

September 28th NEWTS Social
Come join us for our September NEWTist gathering. Meet some fellow NEWTS and find out about the latest happenings about your local trails.
This month we are doing a movie night at Primaltones in South Beach at 6pm https://primaltones.com/. Primaltones is a cool little studio/bar in South Beach owned by one of our own NEWTS, Tyler Spencer. Food and drink will be available for purchase and will be showing a movie so don't be late.
